About me

Klicia SampaioWelcome to my web site! I'm Klicia Sampaio, Professor of Food Engineering at the Faculty of Food Engineering in the University of Campinas (Unicamp) located in Campinas, Brazil. Before becoming a professor, I worked on biodiesel production through heterogeneous catalysis at the Laboratory of Extraction, Applied Thermodynamics and Equilibrium (ExTrAE) at Unicamp. Prior to transitioning to Campinas, I was at Ghent University (Belgium) in the Synthesis, Bioresources and Bioorganic Chemistry (SynBioC) Research Group where I worked on enzyme and cavitation technology for degumming of vegetable oils. I received my PhD degree in Food Engineering in 2011 from the University of Campinas through a collaboration program between the University of Campinas and Ghent University.

My main interests are in fields of Bioscience Engineering and Food Science and Technology. Most of my research is focused on: biocatalysis, extraction and analysis of vegetable oils, deacidification and deodorization of vegetable oils, essential oil extraction, nutraceutical compounds, food contaminants and MCPD esters, thermal energy storage and control logic.

Please feel free to contact me.
